Refining & Petrochemical

Our team of skilled workers has been constructing, renovating and maintaining refineries for more than six decades; we know what it takes to finish a job on time and within budget. Our distinctive front-end planning approach benefits the customer in a market where tight schedules and accurate estimates are a must. Among difficult operating environments and ongoing operations, we are able to execute effectively to safely improve production capabilities. In 2007 alone, we completed more than 4 million workhours in operating refineries.

Our direct-hire construction has resulted in the completion of some of the largest petrochemical and refinery projects on the U.S. Gulf Coast including the BASF/ FINA North American Regional Olefins Complex (NROC) project. Established at the time to be the world’s largest single-train olefins production facility, this job included all construction disciplines and involved approximately 3.7 million workhours with a peak workforce of more than 2,000. Additionally, our Lyondell Citgo Refinery expansion involved construction of a sulfur recovery unit, a crude vacuum unit, a cat-feed hydrotreater unit and general off-site and utility areas. Our low total recordable incident rate of less than 0.76 for 6 million direct workhours and 900,000 subcontracted workhours is representative of our commitment to safety.
