Proto-Sprinkler

PROTO-SPRINKLERTM performs steady–state analyses of fire suppression sprinkler systems calculates the required riser pressure to meet minimum nozzle demands or the actual flowrates with known pump curves or pressures. Using a complex set of simultaneous equations represented by a matrix the program calculates corrections to the initial pressure estimates using a combination of a successive overrelaxation method and the Newton-Raphson method. PROTO-SPRINKLER also follows the standard methodology and approach for calculations as specified in NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems, and NFPA 15, Standard for Water Spray Fixed Systems for Fire Protection.

Proto-Power has developed PROTO-SPRINKLER Windows-based computer software which enables the user to model and evaluate fire sprinkler systems that range from simple to complex designs. PROTO-SPRINKLER has been developed and validated in accordance with Proto-Power’s Nuclear Software Quality Assurance Program which has been audited and accepted by major utilities.
